GL: Tell us about your business.

Neeta: BiolineIndia was born with the mission to ‘better human life.’ The blood bank equipment we manufacture is indigenously designed with quality certification from NSIC, ISO, CE. BiolineIndia was the first company in India to design and develop Blood Bag Tube Sealers in the year 2001. We provide complete solutions for a blood bank establishment which include supply of equipment and consultancy for regulatory affairs for carting a blood bank.

GL: When did you start exporting?

Neeta: We started exporting our equipment to countries around the world 2006. Our products caught the attention of the international market because of our high quality and competitive prices. We export to countries such as Bangladesh, Nepal, France, Germany, Australia, Nigeria, Afghanistan, South America, Cocody, Africa, Panama, etc. Recently we have started exporting to Egypt as well.

GL: What export challenges have you faced?

Neeta: For us pricing and quality is not a challenge as our prices are competitive and we follow stringent quality checks as per international standards. For us the major challenge is that we do not always find good platforms to showcase our products or genuine local dealers/ agencies to promote our range of products in other countries. FIEO (Federation of Indian Export Organisations) is an organisation with a lot of credibility and as its members we aim to exhibit our products at trade fairs organised by FIEO.

GL: What is your message to aspiring entrepreneurs?

Neeta: Your product should be market-friendly and readily available. In our industry, often there is a gap between the manufacturing sector and the institutions. Minimising this gap will benefit aspiring entrepreneurs.
